International Women's Day in Detroit
International Women’s Day was on Friday March 8, 2019. I went to Detroit for the Vince Staples concert (more on that in this blog post) and happened to stop by Ferne Boutique for their International Women’s Day event. A fellow photographer, Kat Stevens (who is amazingly talented), offered free headshots to women in a cool shopping and shooting event. I met Kat on Instagram and it was nice to meet her in real life! She showed me her setup and also taught me about her lighting style, preferred backgrounds, and offered tips.
On International Women’s Day, it was about giving back and helping pull other women up. Kat chose photography to uplift and encourage others and I know that her clients are so happy she did.
In this life, we can’t go far if we aren’t willing to bring someone else along.
